The nation will witness the official rollout of the first batch of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles manufactured at the state-of-the-art BrahMos Aerospace facility. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will preside over the flag-off ceremony, signaling a monumental achievement for the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) and a powerful boost to India’s “Make in India” initiative.
This pivotal event transcends mere ceremony; it represents the dawn of a new era in India’s journey towards self-reliance in defense production. BrahMos Aerospace, the joint venture behind the world’s fastest and most lethal precision-strike missile, has successfully completed the inaugural consignment from its advanced Integration and Test Facility in Lucknow. This facility, which became fully operational on May 11, 2025, is a testament to India’s growing prowess in high-tech manufacturing, equipped with sophisticated systems for missile integration, testing, and final quality assurance. Following rigorous trials, these missiles are now ready for deployment by the Indian Armed Forces.

The Defence Minister and Chief Minister will inaugurate the Booster Building and observe a live demonstration of the intricate booster docking process. Furthermore, they will be briefed on the cutting-edge work being done in the Airframe and Avionics, and Warhead buildings, including a presentation on the Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) and BrahMos simulator equipment.. The ceremony will also feature a tree-planting drive, a demonstration of the Mobile Autonomous Launcher, and the formal presentation of the GST bill to the Chief Minister, signifying the project’s immediate contribution to the state’s revenue.
This continuous production of BrahMos missiles is projected to provide a sustained stream of GST revenue for Uttar Pradesh while creating a wealth of employment opportunities for highly skilled individuals.
